How this was made
The recommendations came from three friends: Erhan's Google Maps pins, Irene's list of restaurants, bars, clubs and neighbourhoods, and Giulia's museums, walks and links.
- Erhan's 31 short links were resolved to their Google places. On this site they link to the original pins.
- Places that came as plain names were identified on the web. They link to a Google Maps search for their exact name and address.
- Every place's Google Maps listing was checked on 7 Oct 2026 for its category, rating, per-person price range, open/closed status and the topics reviewers mention.
- Descriptions and item prices (cocktail, beer, wine, plate, coffee) come from reviews and menus (venue sites, Wolt/efood, TripAdvisor, press), each linked. Prices nobody published are left blank, not guessed.
- Coordinates were cross-checked against OpenStreetMap and Google. Area shading is approximate.
- Events were researched on 6 Oct 2026. Each carries its source and a confidence flag.
Added later and checked the same way: 9 places from Erhan (12 Oct 2026 and 16 Oct 2026).
Permanently closed: skip these
Recommended, but Google Maps lists them as permanently closed (checked 7 Oct 2026).
- Boiler (Vlachava 9, Athens 105 51): An underground bar on two levels, with a street-level bar and a cave-like basement for electronic, post-punk and experimental DJ and live sets. Firmly on the alternative scene.
- Six d.o.g.s (Avramiotou 6-8, Athens 105 51): A bar, garden and live-music/arts venue opened in 2010 in a former carpentry workshop, with a leafy courtyard around an old tree. Coffee by day, cocktails and concerts or DJ nights after dark. Since April 2026 the old Six d.o.g.s site is run as Klakaz (cocktails €11–13, per Protothema, June 2026).
